Záhony

(Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County)

Shield erect and azure, its base is rounded. In chief a locomotive’s wheel is borne and it is flanked by two birds, all argent. In base three wavy bendlets argent, symbolising the Tisza river.

The coat-of-arms of the town of Záhony was designed by Nándor Hérics, a Budapest artist. The settlement’s coat-of-arms was created in 1990 and the design was approved by the local government in 1991.
