In chief vert two roses are borne or and centred gules. Between the roses the letters W and T are borne or. The letters are initials of the phrase Wag Terra, that is ’the land of the Vág’. The colour green is a reference to the agricultural characteristics of the settlement .
In dexter field gules on a field vert the charge of a one-towered church is borne, argent. Church is topped by a patriarchal cross, sable. The church is a stylised depiction of the local Catholic church, which was erected to honour St. James.
In sinister field azure alongside a field vert a wavy bend argent, an ordinary, which symbolises the river Rába. Above this charge a barred bridge is borne standing on two pillars. All argent.
In the third field azure the coat-of-arms of Ferenc Wathay, the most renowned native son of the settlement of Vág is borne. As charges it has a triple mound vert. The mound in the middle is topped by a vambraced arm, holding a scimitar. Both argent.
