Tabajd
(Fejér County)
The history of Tabajd goes back to the beginning of the thirteenth century, at which time it was part of the Csák family estate. According to records a brave soldier, called Torbej received the estate from the Csák family around 1202. His descendants, -the Tabajdi family- then ruled the village for the next 200 years.
The village wasn’t destroyed during the Middle Ages, which is confirmed by the fact, that its name has remained „Tabajd” ever since.
When designing the coat of arms of the village we took old historical information into account. The golden lion in the middle symbolizes the heraldic lion of the Csák family. The symbol of historical battles and heroism was placed in the right paw of the lion. The history of Tabajd is rich with noble national events such as the county council meeting convened by Rákóczi Ferenc II in Tabajd, which is symbolized by the scepter in the left paw of the lion.
The rounded shield base of the coat of arms is consistent with medieval practice. The colors of the crest are blue and gold. The golden lion is placed on the blue background of the shield. The crest is supported by crops grown by the residents of Tabajd today. These are then surrounded by a blue and gold ribbon with the Latin phrase; Renovare Semper Convenit (Renewal is always worth while).
