Rinyaújlak
(Somogy County)
Rinyaújlak, with a population of 330, is located in Belső Somogy (Inner Somogy) and it can be reached on route 68 from the direction of Nagyatád or Barcs Through Csokonyavisonta.
The coat of arms of Rinyaújlak is a triangular shield with a golden shield top. The large shield is divided into two fields with a diagonal silver strip. In the first field there is an eight-armed golden star, while in the other there is a golden cross ending in a clover. In the golden shield top there is an eagle with wings spread flying to the right, carrying a straight sword in its talons. At the bottom of the shield there are two green oak branches crossed, full of acorns.
The golden eagle with a sword on the shield top pays tribute to the heroes of the two world wars. The eagle also appears on the local World War memorial. The silver strip symbolizes the eponymous Rinya Stream, the star and the cross represent to the Protestant and the Christian congregations of the community. The oak branches symbolize the environment abounding in forests.
The coat of arms and the flag of the municipality were consecrated on the 18th of August, 2001 at an ecumenical service pontificated in honour of the Millennial celebrations, as part of the Village Day traditionally organized every August.
