Rinyabesenyő
(Somogy County)
Triangular shield erect and gules, with a dexter bend argent. In chief a stag trippant and or, borne paralelly with the silver bend. In base three oak leaves are borne vertically, all vert. In silver bend an arrow sable is borne pointing toward the upper dexter corner of the shield.
The surroundings of the settlement are characterised by deep forests and the abundance of game; these facts are symbolised by the charges of the stag and the oak leaves in Rinyabesenyő’s coat of arms. The silver bend in it is a reference to the Rinya river, while the arrow recalls the fierce ’besenyő/Petcheneg’ tribes of the settlement’s past. This word is also used as the posterior constituent of the village’s name.
