Rigyác

The shield is party per bend twice disk escutcheon. In its upper field gules a bunch of grapes or couped is borne. The centre field vert bears two oak leaves or couped with two acorns or. In the lower field gules a corn-flower or couped can be seen.

Above the shield the motto “RIGYÁC” is borne in majuscules sable.

The disk escutcheon is party per bend twice. The colour gules refers to the meaning of the settlement’s name (veres, vörös means red). The northern part of the village is hilly, with woods and vineyards, the southern part is flat land. The oak leaf or in the second field refers to the vineyards on the hillslopes in the northern part of Rigyác. The corn-flower or in the third field is the symbol of the flat szántóföldek in the settlement.

The symbols on the shield, viticulture, forestry and agriculture played important roles in the history of Rigyác and parts of the lives of the inhabitants.
