The coat of arms of the local government: Shield azure erect, base curved to a point. Shield is party per a wavy bend argent. In dexter of the chief field a plough argent pointing upwards, on sinister a propeller argent. Under the wavy bend a fish or naiant to the dexter. On the top of the shield the name of the village, PÉR, is read in sable.

The area was already populated in the Stone ages. According to a document from 1237 the village was owned by the Benedict Abbacy of Szent Márton, and later by the Bishop of Győr from 1329 to 1848. The village was demolished by Turkish troops in 1526 and became unpopulated: Repopulation of the village was begun in 1664. It has a population of 2377 persons. Interesting sights are: baroque style Roman Catholic church from the eighteen century (baroque style chalice made in silver, reliquary, pictures). An airport for sports is operated at the village and there are plans to develop it into an international sport’s airport.

Pér Airfield is situated halfway between Vienna and Budapest and at a distance of 15 km from Győr, along the national highway No. 81. It is the largest grass-covered airfield of the country with its 2,9 km long runway.

The airfield offers attractive possibilities for practising every king of flying from the early spring days until late autumn. We can arrange you pleasure flight on optional air routes than provide you delightful experiences, air taxi service is available, advertisement posters can be town at request, training camps can be organised both for soaring pilots and parachutists.

Throughout the whole year, there is a possibility of using the Pér Airfield for direct international flights subject to prior agreement.

Cheap accomodation, bar and very good restaurant are available at the airfield. Visitors coming in caravans or those having tents with them are also welcome.

Das Dorf ist seit der Steinzeit bewohnt. Nach einer Urkunde aus dem Jahre 1237 war es im Besitz der Szentmártoner Benediktinerabtei. Von 1329 bis 1848 gehörte es zu dem Győrer Bistum. 1526 entvölkerte sich das Dorf infolge der türkischen Verheerung. 1664 begann man mit der Besiedlung des Dorfes. Die Gemeinde Pér erhielt ihren Namen nachh der Fischart Pér, schon früh besaß der Ort einen guten Fischsee. Die erste urkundliche Erwähnung erfolgte im sogenannten Aiellus-index. Das Register entstand in der Zeit von 1237-1240. Im Jahre 1735 wurde die auch derzeit existierende Kirche des Dorfes erbaut. Die barokke katholische Kirche aus dem XVIII. In Pér gibt es einen Sportflughafen, den man zu einem internationalen Sportflughafen entwickeln möchte. Heute zählt es 2377 Einwohner.
