Pátka

(The county of Fejér)

The shield is a standing sharp-pointed shield. The shield-field is cleaved by a blue stake. It is divided into two shields: From the right it is red-silver, silver-red on the left.

There are three floating silver fish in the blue stake. At the sole of the stake, the blue shield-field is closed by a four height golden, brick-wall.

In the first and the fourth shield a golden wheat-sheaf can be seen, in the second and third two - two cluster of grapes on a green grape branch.

Pátka is a 809-year-old village in the county of Fejér on the shore of the so called "Emperor-water" at the gentle slope of the hill of Velence on the West. The first written memory is from "Keresztelő" Saint John from 1192.

The origin of the village is from the ancient Hungarian word "Paty". The namesake of the village today are Páty, Pátyod and Rábapaty.

The two stakes of the shield - and also the heraldrical motives in it - represent the reservoir of Pátka. Here used to be natural water in the valley of "Emperor" which got filled up after a while.

The Romans built a stone-dike at the strait of the "Kőrakás" ("stone-pile") hill, with which they inflated the water of the water of the brooke. The ruins of this stone-dike one still present today as an unique archeological memory. This is symbolized in the shield with the brick wall.

A new reservoir was built recently next to the village, aiming that the fluctuation at the waterlevel of lake-Velence should be harmonized with the water of the reservoir. Beside the original plan, the reservoir of Pátka also became a popular holiday resort.

Unfortunately the reservoir was sacrifised for the save of lake Velence, foolishly. With lack of luck...

The three silver fish does not only symbolize the fish living in the severvoir but also the "lake" of Császárvíz. The motives of - sheaf in the two red shield - fields and the grapebranches in the two silver shield-fields one the later - 1848 - waxseal we can see a three - branch wheat growing from the ground, with a ploughshane and a coulter on both aides.

The same picture can be seen on the much older mock prin of a "rubber sole" seal. He wheat and the grape are from the oldest seals. The doubling of the two are intentional: the represent the history and the present. The what-sheaf symbolize the agricultural character of Pátka on one hand, and a historical memory on the other. The survival of the Turkish, the pro-Habsburg attack and the two world-war sow the wheat again and again: to make life again!

The grapebranch symbolize history. As motif as a history it is bouble.

It does not only represent the more centuries old grape growing, but also as a biblical motif it was the symbol of abundance and wealth. On the other hand the grape branch refers to the holiday resort.

To sum it up, the shield, cleaved with states is unique only typical for Pátka village.

A few motives are from ancient original sels, other motives symbolize the past and present of the village, and also the heraldry motives expresses the geographical layout.
