Across the top a five-pointed heraldic coronet or, adorned with gems. Under the shield on a concave scroll the motto "ORGOVÁNY" in majuscules or.
The symbolism of the coat-of-arms is as follows: the colours blue and white (silver) of the shield refer to the fact that the settlement is part of the region called Kiskunság (Cumania Minor), since these colours used to be the ones of the one-time Jazygian-Cuman district.
The Cuman warrior emerging from behind the coronet represents the history of Orgovány by commemorating the legendary Cuman warrior called Orgovány, who is alleged to have been the minstrel (lute player) of Chief Árpád. It is this Cuman bowman that reminds us all of our ancestors, who served with arms their king throughout the Middle Ages and, as a reward, they were free to possess their dwelling places.
In 1566 Orgovány was destroyed, and it was not until 1901 that it got repopulated by Calvinist Cumans from Kunszentmiklós. They are commemorated by the eight-pointed golden star, the symbol of God's glory in all Christian communities.
The bull's head represents animal husbandry pursued by the residents in earlier times, while the vine stalk symbolises agriculture, which is the major source of living even today.
The coronet adorning the shield is a reference to the Cuman district's status as a crown possession, to the fact that the local dwellers always had their self government, and that they never lived under the oppressive rule of feudal landlords.
