Monor

(County Pest)

Shield erect, the field divided by the bordering line of a triple mound. The upper field bears: azure (gentian blue), a vine tendril with leaves, all or. The lower field bears: or, in the middle a large capital letter M (Monor's initial) purpure.

The leaved vine tendril in the upper field symbolises Monor's past and present agricultural character.

The triple mound in the lower field emphasises that Strázsa-hegy (hill) and Monorierdő (a part of the town) are resort areas.

The basic historical motifs, upon which the artistic design of the coat-of-arms was based, were chosen from Monor's seal dated 1652, as well as from the evidence of archival research.
