Jánoshalma

(The County of Bács-Kiskun)

The coat of arms is shield-shaped. Its dominant colours are green, gold, silver, blue and black. Main elements: in the shield there are three hills and a flagged Passover standing on the hills. Around its head there is the holy gloria and above it there are three six-pointed stars. The three hills are green, the Passover is silvery, the gloria and the stars are golden. The ground colour of the flag is silver and there is a red cross in it.

The three hills symbolize the hills on the confines of Jánoshalma and especially the occuring word "hill" in the names of the settlements: Jánoshalma, Kéleshalom and Terézhalom. Above the shield there are a golden crown and a black raven turning to the left and holding a ring in its beak.

The raven is the Hunyadis' coat of arms. Jánoshalma as Jankószállás was the territory of the Hunyadi family.

The shield is surrounded by a decorative cartouche. Among the green wine-leaves there are golden cluster of grapes.

It refers to the former prosperous wine- and fruit-production.
