Jákfa

(Vas County)

Description of the coat-of-arms:

Shield erect tinctured azure, bears a leafy branch vert placed across.

Above it a vambraced arm holding a curved sword. Above these to the sinister a half-moon or, to the dexter a star or is borne. Above the shield a helmet with a crown. Mantling: gules-azure-argent on both sides.

The arm holding the drawn sword is the symbol of heroism and the soldier’s virtue; it can be seen on the seal of Jákfa used in the 19th century.
