Shield erect, quarterly. In the upper dexter field or, an elm tree is borne, vert. In the upper sinister field, party per pale vert and or, four stars are borne, all argent.

Base and chief are divided by a wavy bend, azure. In the lower dexter field the striped flag of Árpád's dynasty is borne; the lower sinister field, vert is emblazoned with a book gules and a pen argent (white).

The elm tree in the upper dexter field is a refence to the original flora of the region. The stars of the upper sinister field have been taken over from the charges found on the seal of an old document by Mihály Simon.

The striped flag of the lower dexter field is a reference to the fact that the settlement came into being in the period of the reign of Árpád's dynasty.

The book and the pen in the lower sinister field are symbols revealing the important role of the settlement in education.
