(The County of Nógrád)

Shield erect, chief party per fess. Base is curved to a point. Above the shield on an arched ribbon the inscription EGYHÁZASGERGE is borne. Shield features charges, which are related to the settlement’s history. They are arranged in two Gothic fields. On the dexter side a traced window, on the sinister side the Renaissance chest of the Lipthay family. At the bottom of the vertical wall a medieval baptistry. In the chief two stars are borne and they symbolise the unification of the settlement.ú

The two ears of wheat in the centre are references to the agricultural occupation of the inhabitants of the village. The dominanrt charge of the settlement’s coat of arms is gules, which evokes the devastating fire which took place in the village in the 19th century. The colour gold represents solemnity, while the colour green (vert) symbolises hope. The shapes are divided into different colour planes and this feature enhances the decorative nature of the shield.
