Edve

(The County of Győr-Moson-Sopron)

Shield erect, its base is curved to a point. Its main charge is a hussar galloping on his horse.In his dexter hand hussar is holding a sword, in his sinister he is holding the reins. The lower one seventh part of the shield is vert, chief is argent. Shield is contoured sable and above it the settlement’s name EDVE is inscribed encouped in capital letters sable. The galloping hussar is a reminder of the settlement’s nobiliary past, while the colour green (vert) is a reference to the settlement’s agricultural characteristics.

Horse, saddle, and the reins are coloured proper (brown), the saddle cloth is green (vert). The hussar is habited azure, his moustache, hair, boots, the peak of his cap and the decoration on his suit are black (sable). His pelisse and cap are both red (gules). Stirrup, the sword’s sheath, the buckle on the hussars’s pelisse as well as the crest on his tschako are all silver (argent).
