Dunaharaszti

Round shield erect and quarterly, its base is pointed. In dexter chief gules a bunch of grapes, vert is borne, leaved. In sinister chief azure three ears of corn, or, in dexter base vert two wavy bends argent and in sinister base azure a beehive with bees, all or. Helm is replaced by three roses, two of them are leaning toward the edges. Shield is enframed by stylised mantling.

Dunaharaszti is located at a distance of 17 kilometres south of Budapest, on the Budapest-Baja trunk road No. 510 and by the Budapest-Kelebia railway line No. 160. On the north it borders on Budapest, on the east on Alsónémedi, on the south Taksony and Szigetszentmiklós on the west. Its western border is a natural one. Dunaharaszti is separated from Szigetszentmiklós by the Csepel branch of the Danube. This part of the settlement is a nice resort area.

The total area of Dunaharaszti is 2,895 hectares.The inner part of the town occupies approximately one third of the total area of the settlement. The number of permanent residents is 16,684, and when the temporary residents are also considered the number of inhabitants is about 20,000.

Dunaharaszti is one of the most dynamically developing settlements of the country and in 2000 it was raised to the rank of town.
