Dömös

(The County of Komárom-Esztergom)

Shield erect, with an escutcheon, adorned with eight stripes gules, and argent. Above the shield a crown or. Both motives are references to the fact, that the village of Dömös played a significant role in the period of the foundation of the Hungarian state, as well as in the Árpád age.

Chief is tinctured vert, base azure. The colour vert symbolises the surrounding hills, while the colour blue is a reference to the Danube river. The two tinctures are separated by a wavy line argent.

Above the shield the inscription DÖMÖS is borne. The settlement’s coat of arms has an ornamental form, in which above the shield a ribbon gules is borne with the settlement’s name in it and abovethe ribbon the head of the column of the building of the provostship, tinctured argent.
