Explanation of the shield
Csabrendek originates from the fusion of Csab and Rendek. This is symbolized by the red and blue ground of the shield.
Csab originates from the proper name Csaba. The first written mentioning of it was in form "CHAB" in 1272. Later it was mentioned as "CHOB" in 1355.
The name Rendek originates maybe from the Slavic word "ruda" which means "ore". The name Rudabánya is similar to it. Its written mentioning was in form "RYDNAK" from 1270. The shield was made on the basis of the seal of Csabrendek.
The original seal-motive (the knight holding a mace) was completed with the red crossed scutcheon.
The explanation of the original seal is that Csabrendek was a nobil community. The inhabitants of the community obtained their nobility in the fights against the Turkish in defence of their country and Christianity. The cross motive refers to it.
The triple-hillock in the other ground symbolizes the hill next to the community. The vinestock refers not only the vine yielded here, this is also a biblical motive the symbol of plenty and wealth. Thats why, as a popular shield motive it is in the seal of several communities.
